Event Description

Please read an important message from Move Hillsborough Forward and volunteer if you can:

Countywide Transportation Referendum
Vote Early and Volunteer Often!

We are only a few weeks away from a turning point in the history of Tampa Bay. This project will be the biggest job generator our community has ever seen and with an unemployment rate of 12.4% in Hillsborough County alone- we need these JOBS now!

Early voting starts Monday, October 18th! Please vote early and encourage your friends & neighbors to vote as well. Click here for a listing of early voting sites: http://www.votehillsborough.org/content.aspx?id=810.

The St. Petersburg Times and Bay News 9 recently polled Hillsborough residents and found the Countywide Transportation System had 51 percent support, with 10 percent undecided. This number indicates that this is a very close race and we need to do everything we can in these final weeks to ensure success.

Moving Hillsborough Forward needs your help to counter the misinformation and scare tactics of the opposition and to ensure every voter understands what is at stake on November 2nd - Jobs!

Over the next 19 days, the campaign needs volunteers to wave signs at voting locations or distribute information at high profile events. The ballot is long and confusing and it is essential our supporters know how to find us on the ballot. Being there on Election Day to answer questions and remind voters to look for “Countywide Transportation” is crucial. Sign up to volunteer at today www.movinghillsboroughforward.org/volunteer.aspx.

Here are some specific events where we need help:

Early Voting Sites: Throughout the County (click here for a full list http://www.votehillsborough.org/content.aspx?id=810) October 18th-30th 9am-6pm (varies by location) Need about 2 volunteers per hour- per voting site.

Saturday October 23rd and Sunday October 24th- Upper Tampa Bay Chamber’s Octoberfest (20,000+ expected attendance). Event it is in Oldsmar. Need about 10 volunteers each day to work for a couple hours from 11am-6pm.

Please sign up at www.movinghillsboroughforward.org/volunteer.aspx to learn about all of our visibility events.

We cannot let this historic opportunity pass us by and we all need to do what we can in these final days.

Please take a minute and sign up to do what you can to ensure victory. We know the cost of doing nothing. Please contact us at 813-448-3989 or at Katie@movinghillsboroughforward.org to help ensure a historic victory on November 2nd.
