very true. where there is no plan, and little citizen involvement they can run wild!

saw a good show on PBS tonight-Blueprint America-Infrastructure. Great quote from Portland mayor: "we can make developers more money by building complete neighborhoods." Also good clips about transit, growth boundaries and land-use.

Thanks, I haven't seen that, I'll see if I can track it down. There are several cities Tampa could learn from, Portland being one of the best.
