Last week artist Tracey Dear lit up 5 Tampa bridges in a project titled Agua Luces. Backed by Mayor Bob Buchorn, Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas, and the Lights On Tampa Committee, this will be a permanent fixture to the City of Tampa. When the installation is complete, 9 bridges will be lit in total. The Platt Street Bridge, the Brorein Street Bridge, the Tampa-Hillsborough Expressway Authority overpass, the Kennedy Boulevard Bridge, and the CSX Railroad Bridge were all illuminated in a ceremony on August 10, 2012. Whether you are on land, in the water, or in the sky, the view is impeccable. Each bridge boasts it own unique design and with the reflection of the water, the result is a gorgeous display of lights. To capture the beauty of the bridges I created a timelapse over the course of several days/nights. It's things like this that make me happy to call Tampa my home.
